1900 and 2012 topo maps Bayard was a train-order office and a diesel serviceing facility. Diesels were served here that worked loads of coal up the branch to the Mount Storm Power Plant. This branch is owned by the plant and is still intact today. CSX serves the plant very rarley. Back at Bayard was a 114 car capacity siding and 147 car sidetrack. View Larger Map

CSX is doing some more switch here at Bayard. In the second photo CSX GP40-2 6432 is an ex Chessie/WM locomotive. This unit was acquired by Chessie as a trade in on the WM F7's.
